"Come on, Rory. You need to come on out and greet the guests."

Rory McRaney sighed and brushed dust off his jeans, trying to get the worst of the stable off of him. The worst thing, he decided, about owning a dude ranch was that it made him feel like Mr. Roarke on Fantasy Island. He wasn't good at the meet and greet, hated the tongue-tied feeling he got, even after being the boss for three years.

It didn't help that all of the guests expected him to be older.

Still, it was customary, and since he wasn't likely to ever have a little woman to do it for him, he went on out, following his all-around Girl Friday, Anna, out of the barn and on up to the big old courtyard where the wagons pulled up, bringing the guests in from the parking and shuttle about two miles out.

There were about ten people, one family of four, a group of three fisherman types, two older ladies, and one tall, angular man who just made Rory's heart stop in his chest.

Holy shit.

Well, now. That was a shock to the old system, making adrenaline just shoot through him. The one person he'd never expected to see on his ranch in a million years had just climbed down out of his creaky old wooden wagon, and damned if Dante Wanner didn't look at him the same way he probably looked at Dante.

Pure D shock.
