WHAT IS FREEDOM WORTH? To those who have fled oppression and tyranny, it's worth everything. These are the inspiring true life experiences of our newest patriots - all escaped their former homes at great risk, just for the chance of living a free life in America. They've come from Cuba, Venezuela, the former Soviet Union, Vietnam, and other countries to make their dreams of freedom come true.

But not all dreams have happy endings. Is the American dream of opportunity, freedom, and exceptionalism turning into a nightmare? "Pursuing Liberty" contrasts the reality of living under oppressive regimes with America's unique and irreplaceable legacy: freedoms that may be lost entirely if America continues its downward slide.

Is it too late to stem the rising tide of overzealous government? The answer is up to us.

Editorial Reviews

Chris Davis
Elective Decisions has a special thank you to Cory Emberson and Rick Lindstrom for seeing this project to fruition and bringing this book to the American people. They are a “Paul and Paulette Revere” of the highest order. Nope, they don’t have a “Golden EIB” microphone, but they have one hell of a book: Pursuing Liberty: America Through The Eyes Of The Newly Free—a powerful book that’s sure to shake the foundations of liberalism.
Raven Clabough
"Pursuing Liberty: America Through the Eyes of the Newly Free" is a must-read for any American who has forgotten the Founding principles that made America so exceptional. For those who take for granted the freedoms offered by our Constitution, Pursuing Liberty will serve as a reminder. And for readers who continue to fly the American flag with pride and defend the Constitution on a regular basis, Pursuing Liberty should be added to their library as a celebration of the American dream.

Meet the Author

Cory Emberson has written extensively in the aviation field. She is also a professional editor and proofreader, and has worked with many authors in the preparation of their own books. "Pursuing Liberty: America Through the Eyes of the Newly Free" is her first book.

A native of Connecticut, the Constitution State, she was a professional radio broadcaster and news correspondent in the Hartford Metro area in the late 1970s.

Cory holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from San Francisco State University.

Cory has been a repeat guest on KSFO-AM in San Francisco, and with her co-author, has spoken to varied groups on the issues of American exceptionalism, immigration, and tyranny.

"Pursuing Liberty" grew from her personal passion for the preservation of liberty in the United States, a conviction shared by many people, Americans by birth and Americans by choice. This conviction was nurtured from each side of the American experience. Her maternal grandfather arrived in the United States from Vilnius, Poland, via Ellis Island in the late 1800s, and one of her paternal ancestors was South Carolina's Arthur Hewitt Middleton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Rick Lindstrom has been writing professionally since the late 1980s, first as a video scriptwriter for various broadcast and industrial projects, and then in the aviation field. He is currently the founder and CEO of an experimental aircraft builder assist facility in Livermore, California, and still works in the aviation multimedia field. Lindstrom has also worked as a technical writer in the early 1980s for a major national telecommunications company, and spent 16 years as an audio technician in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A self-confessed "freedom junkie," Lindstrom's focus has recently shifted to the plight of the average American citizen. Concerned with the overwhelming growth and intrusion of state and federal governments just in his lifetime, he recently has undertaken non-aviation, liberty-related projects such as Pursuing Liberty.
