This is my 18 month old son's favorite book. We had to order another copy because he carried the other one around and looked through the pages so much that it is falling apart! I read him this story at least three times a day and I'm still not sick of it!

This book is so much fun to read. It was a favorite of mine as a kid and now I get to read it to my daughter. A great read for kids of all ages...even the ones in their thirties

you just can't find a book more fun than this one. i knew this book by heart as a child, and every kid i've given it to has enjoyed it. it's about a creature with big red polka dots who wants to live in the zoo. a prefect gift!

The animal in this book is trying to earn a place in the zoo by showing two young children all the amazing things he can do. Silly, with sneaky lesson in colors here's a story that proves that what we want isn't always what's best for us.

My grandma used to read this to me at her house. I bought for my daughter at 18 months in board book and now the regular hardback full story at 2 1/2. She likes this book very much. The simple illustrations are just right for the story. It addresses dealing with rejection in a positive way and how people possess unique gifts and talents.

This is an excellent book to read aloud. Toddlers like the story and have no trouble following along as it is read. The book allows them to interact with the reader who can ask for their input since the spots change in color or location on every page. Mr. Lopshire could have made better use of the background boy and girl who could be more important to the theme rather than just background scenery. As a reader for 2 year olds, I endorse the book and feel it should be in the Toddlers bookshelf.

I have looked and looked for this book. I had it as a small child, and have loved it ever since! Thank you, B&N for carrying it! You have made me very happy. Now, one day, I can share this great book with my children!

As a child, I had this book.  And as a child, I liked this book.  And as a child, I was not bothered by the fact that the animals in the zoo were in small cages, or that there were animals in the circus, or that what is called "violet" in this book is really indigo or just purple.  Now I have a child, and he likes this book.  Maybe it's because the animal who want to join the zoo is unidentifiable.  He is like nothing you've ever seen before, kind of a polar bear/wild cat hybrid with perfectly round, colorful spots that he can change on a whim.  Or maybe it is the colors.  Or the reactions of the boy and the girl in the story.  It could be the text, which is simple without being boring, although my son can only read two words of it yet:  "look" and "more". Whatever it is about this book, I liked it when I was a child, my son picked it out and he likes it.  Clearly the author/illustrator got the combination right.

This is a great buy for kids. No problems at all and kids like tapping the pictures to play.

Story was ok, but we never finished it because the navigation in the e book was so bad. It was very difficult for my 2 year old grandson to move things around. I was VERY disappointed.

This book is a classic! I still have my own copy from childhood. I bought this for my grandson's first birthday. Wonderful addition to any children's personal library.

MY 3 yr. old granddaughter loves this book. There are fun activities thru out the book that she can have fun with. It's a cute story also. I'm looking for more books by Robert Lopshire, he has a nice voice and is a great story teller.

The book is awesome but 14 bucks is WAAAAYYYY to much! The Hunger Games has about 270 pages and I only spent nine on that. And The Lord of the Rings book that have a couple hundred pages werent that much! Its a good book for little kids but that much money is CRAZY!!!!
