Overview

Meet Renee, an up and coming professional in the world of loans and financing.  She didn't come to this path easily, surviving a childhood in East Los Angeles in a single parent home with plenty of siblings to forge a less than successful path for her.

But Renee saw something different out there for herself, a world full of opportunity and promise.  The fact that she was a "big girl" never stopped her from pursuing a career, until the 10-year friendship with Robert bloomed into romance.  Tall and rather lean, Robert was not at all what you would call a leading man but Renee fell in love with Robert and he fell hard for her.

Things looked promising until the Colonel, Robert's father, met Renee.  All bets were off.  Suddenly Renee's weight became the deal breaker.  You will laugh, you will cry, but ultimately you will be fighting this battle right along with Renee, cheering her on, while she's putting on her big girl panties".

If you value good English, put down this book!

I'm two-thirds through this book, and I'm wishing I had put it down before this. I figure that some of the poor grammar and spelling are the author's attempt to duplicate black English, but most of it is ignorance and the worst editing of all time. For example, the main character is going to interview "perspective" candidates for a job rather than "prospective" candidates. The character doesn't "mine" something when it should be "mind" something. I found it very annoying and exhausting to try to figure out what was really meant as I was trying to get immersed in the story.

The main reason I'm upset about this book is that I feel like a fool for getting involved in a novel so poorly written, and I am angry that, in essence, I've given some of my hard-earned money to a writer that doesn't care enough about her readers to invest some time in looking up words to see that they're spelled correctly. This is sloppy writing at its worst. Don't reward the writer's laziness by buying this book.

This book is definitely a page turner...

Wow, Michelle captures the audience attention from the opening line. This book will make you laugh out loud with her witty comments and sense of humour. I will defintely reccommend this book to anyone that is willing to take a break from there own reality and walk in her shoes.

Needs grammar check and spell check!

The story was a little drawn out but the lack of editing made it an almost impossible read. I cannot remember another book with so many errors.

    Excellent a must read!!!!

Puttin¿ on My Big Girl Panties is an exceptional entertaining book. It was a pleasurable experience. I literally could not put the book down. I took the book everywhere and read in every available moment. Each page effectively unfolded surprising twists and turns. The author brings you face to face with the character¿s challenges, strengths, vulnerabilities, and triumphs. I cried, sigh, shouted, and laughed out loud. A must read book. This will no doubt be a best seller. Michelle Clyburn¿s style and tone of writing has proven to be dynamic.

    Girl friends review

This was one of those books any woman can relate too, expecially a big girl. The humor and story were refreshing, between laughter and tears it is like a girlfriend to girlfriend long talk in writting. I highly recommend it to others, my seventeen year old son read it and loved it too!

    A must-read-can't-put-it-down book

What a way of writing Michelle Clyburn has. I could not put the book down once I picked it up. It was laugh-out-loud funny, insightful, witty, serious, and most of all something anyone who has struggled with self-esteem can relate to. You will not be sorry you read it!

    OMG!!!

Puttin On My Big Girl Panties...It\\\'s a fabulous read! Fresh, funny, sassy & downright entertaining. The story gives a realistic look at the challenges one faces. Clyburn offers a peak inside view of those trails and triumphs that big girls face. This book is very well written, by a bright new author.
