With the Olympic Games in Athens on the horizon, this is probably the first of many Greek compilations during 2004. And Putumayo is certainly well-versed in compilations. It would have been nice to have had a wider exploration of the different facets of Greek music, adding artists with global reputations like Eleftheria Arvantaki and Kristi Stassinopoulou. But this stands for what it is: a very basic introduction to Greek sounds.

    Definitely Greek

Good listening music and helpful when working on reports. Some of it can be danceable. Just another example of good choices by Putmayo.

An Album for the Whole Family

This is an awsome album I have been searching for! Even if you do not speak any Greek, you will enjoy the songs and music and be singing along, especially to "Eleni" and "Drink, Drink". My 3, 5 & 7 yr old girls loved singing along and speak very little Greek!
