I tried an online course and another book first. I am so glad I bought this book. It is very well written and enjoyable to read. It explains things simply and understandably. The course and the other book were a complete waste of time.

I am taking a Python class at the community college and the text book we use is a little difficult to understand and a few days before I took my midterm exam, I bought this as a nook book. I got a 100% on the multiple choice and 45/50 on the coding, thanks to this book. It helped more for the coding, which I wasn't doing so well. Now, I am hoping to go back to previous assignments and improve on them. This book has a lot of example coding and explains line-by-line what the coding is and what it does. It's that simple. I call myself a "print kind of girl" and recently bought the paperback too. If you want to learn Python and have no idea which book to use, this is the book for you. (I am also hoping to submit the interesting programs I used from this book--and added to them--as extra credit for my class.)
