About the Author

Robert T. Hays, Ph.D., received his doctorate in General Experimental Psychology in 1979 from Virginia Commonwealth University. His book, The Science of Learning, presented the theoretical and empirical foundations for this book. He has conducted basic and applied research in learning processes, instructional effectiveness evaluations, and human performance improvement. Two of his many research efforts are: the first portable electronic performance aid and the Navy's first virtual environment training system. He has published extensively and taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
