Meet the Author

Garrett Burke's creative fingerprints are visible across popular culture. You've probably already held one of his ideas in your hand. Topping 8,300+ entries, his coin idea honoring John Muir in Yosemite Valley was selected by Gov. Schwarzenegger and became half a billion California State Quarters.

He authored the foreword to David Bowers’ “A Guide Book of Washington and State Quarters” and was twice featured on the PBS-TV interview series “Between The Lines,” discussing America’s favorite pocket change. Profiled in national media and a popular public speaker, he has appeared before libraries, schools, and civic groups. Garrett is recipient of the American Numismatic Association’s prestigious “Art Award for Excellence in Medallic Sculpture” and the John Muir Association's "John Muir Conservation Award".

Before developing a tiny piece of American history, Garrett crafted movie posters, art, logos, and packaging for Hollywood brands including "Star Wars," "James Bond," and "Nickelodeon." His design work has been recognized by the Library of Congress, American Corporate Identity, international design annuals and books, and the Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards. Raised in Philadelphia & New York, Garrett is an honors graduate of Pratt Institute’s School of Art & Design and lives in Los Angeles.
