Overview

Jaenelle Angelline now reigns as Queen-protector of the Shadow Realm. No longer will the corrupt Blood slaughter her people and defile her lands. But where one chapter ends, a final, unseen battle remains to be written, and Jaenelle must unleash the terrible power that is Witch to destroy her enemies once and for all.

Even so, she cannot stand alone. Somewhere, long lost in madness, is Daemon, her promised Consort. Only his unyielding love can complete her Court and secure her reign. Yet, even together, their strength may not be enough to hold back the most malevolent of forces.

    Blood Trilogy ends beautifully

This is the third and final book in The Blood Jewels Trilogy. I love Bishop's world. It covers the dark, depravity of human nature to true love conquers all and everything in between. I love this trilogy. The last book really moves, and the story of Witch is tied up nicely. Bishop's world is one of the best fantasy world's I've ever read. Love fantasy. This is a must read.

    Enthralling, Captivating, and Bewtiching....

Anne Bishop takes hold of her reader's very souls in the stunning conclusion to her fascinating Black Jewels Trilogy. The first book enthralled me, the second book captivated me, and now, after reading the third book, I am utterly bewitched with Anne Bishop. Her trilogy is a masterpiece, unlike any other fantasy works I have ever read. Mystifying, sensual and radiating with dark magic, tests of faith and compassionate love. This book just lungs for your heart, rips it apart, just to put it back together on the very, very last page. Anne Bishop brought this book to life. All the chars. are believable and true to the story. It brings the imagination to life and gives magic a new light. We can finally find out how it all ends, and watch the good win again. (Not without the help of the Darkness). I take my hat off for this author, for it was a perfect job, and i can't wait for anything else her mind comes up with.

You must read the whole Series

There is drama, laughter, sadness, and a strong dose of Fantasy. This was my book out of order, but it did not matter all of the Black Jewel books are wonderful.

    Highly Recommended

As a reader of fantasy and all sorts of paranormal books, I have to say that this Black Jewel Trilogy is some of the very best I have read. The world and stories of these characters grabbed me from the first book and never let me go until the ending of the Queen of Darkness. Take the journey through Anne Bishop's world. You won't regret it.

Really, that's how it ends? (great until the end)

This book wraps up the last of the story of Janelle who is now a woman, her love interest daemon, her adopted father Saetan, and her "brother" Lucivar. The story really picks up and the great epic battle and destruction of the evil Queens finally comes, but to my great dissapointment the story comes to an awkward end. The punishment given was blah...the resolution as to Lucivar was great, but Saetan and Daemon's story was terrible. Worst of all the main character whom i have been rooting for and invested thru all the books, is supposed to have this amazing power and in the end all we are left is a glimpse at the damaged person she is left to be and nothing as to her future with daemon...overall the story felt rushed in the end, leaving the reader asking.."really, that's how this ends?"

Love the book, hate B&N policy

All of the books in Anne Bishop's Black Jewels series are amazing. Just an FYI, these book are all also DRM protected, which means you can only read them with a Nook, and you are not able to convert them!

Wrapping up the Jewels of Darkness Series.

The first 2 novels in this series, Daughter of the Blood and Heir to the Shadows , were compulsive reads. I'm disappointed to say, Queen of Darkness, well. disappointed. This last addition has fallen prey to a common problem for the last novel in a trilogy, the urge to wrap everything up. Our cast of characters kept growing as Jaenelle Angeline's friends all find companions , and new magical kindred bond with each of them ( it got a little cutesey there). I was not able to keep the names and relationships straight, since many interesting characters had very minor roles in the story. The male lead, Daemon Sadi wanders the darkness rending his clothes in anguish for so long, it got a bit annoying. Villains abound, but none of them is a convincing foil for the heroine's awesome power. Her main challenge seems to be the inertia of a corrupt society. I kept reading, but the story dragged on as more subplots emerged and were dealt with. By the end the heroine Jaenelle, who compelled our interest as a child and sympathies during her turbulent teens, becomes so noble and self-sacrificing an adult that this reader couldn't connect with her character.
You'll want to read this if you've already read the first 2 in the series, but this Fantasy novel cannot stand alone.

Satisfying Conclusion to a Unique Dark Fantasy

I found this a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy begun in Daughter of the Blood and Heir to the Shadows. What stands out to me with Bishop's Dark Jewels series is great world-building and endearing characters. The series is one of those few that is good "comfort food" as well, one of those that bears rereading, curling up as with a visit with old friends. Is it perfect? No. I could pick some holes in plot; I have style issue (particularly some pet phrases that I could wish she'd use more sparingly like "midnight voice) and I think Daemon's arc isn't as strong as Saetan's or Lucifar, I think because for him it's too much all about Jaenelle. But I do give this novel and the overall trilogy five stars because for me this is a standout among the fantasy novels I've read in terms of a unique and intriguing world, characters I care about, and the ability to move me to laughter or near tears.

    Great book

I don't want this series to end. This series is by far one of my favorites and I have enjoyed reading it thoroughly. As the series goes along, it only gets better. I reccommend this to everyone.

    Fantastic

This series was recommended to me by a friend when I was a sophomore in high scool and these are three of the best books that I have ever read, which is quite a feat in its own. Now, as a senior in high school, I find myself comparing other books that I read to this series and most times the books don't quite measure up because the bar is set so high. I would recommend this series to anyone.

    The Greatest Book Ever!!!!

This book is very well written. I couldn't put it down even though I made myself (so that I wouldn't finish it too soon). The characters are so realisticly written that you feel like your right there with them. It makes you experience all sorts of emotions. There are scenes that all you can do is cry. Very excellent. A must read.

    GREAT BOOK! A MUST READ!

This series of books is the best I have ever read by far. You must read all three to get them. But the last one is great I have read it 9 times and I am still not tired of it. Anne's descriptions are wonderful they make you feel as if you are there you sometimes forget that you are reading a book.

    Didn't want it to end.

This book was really tough for me. It was so great i just wanted to keep reading it and never put it down, but at the same time I didn't want to finish it because i was so attached to all the characters. It was really great though and the books in the trilogy remain my favorites to this day.
