Farwell was a master of history, and this is best book. In scope it covers nearly a hundred years and in breadth nearly the entire globe, yet the stories within are short and very readable. I recommend this book to anyone who loves history or just a good story

A very well written book. It was a delightful book to read, very hard to put down. I recommend this book to anyone interested in the Victorian Age or the British Military.
