I was really thinking that this was going to be a very biblical book not that I would mind at all! But that is not what it was! It does take you on a journey through the birth of Jesus. You follow Magi the warrior priests and all that it takes them to get to the birth. I am not too sure what to say with out giving too much away of their journey. I want to say that it is nice to see a new spin on an old story but that sounds like the wrong way to state it!!! Gosh I can't find the right words for this one. Let me tell you that you will not be upset that you took the time to read this book at all. I think that Byron does an amazing job on it and showing that there is always a new way to look at things.

“Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” was a title recently available for review, and as it sounded unique, I requested a copy to read.

“Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” is a fictional story/accounting, written from the author’s point of view, about the Magi who, according to Christianity, noticed a bright new star shining in the heavens. The Magi studied this star, and its location, intently; they discussed its many possible meanings at length. Finally they came to the conclusion that the star was a sign; a beacon of a place to reach. With that knowledge gained, they knew they would need to leave their homeland of Persia and travel all the way to Bethlehem.

“Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” definitely takes the reader on an interesting journey through ancient customs, lands and beliefs. “Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” also focuses on the miracle of the Christ child being born into this world by a virgin mother. Needless to say, a new star and a virgin birthing a child were previously unheard of phenomenons. As such, and with the tidings they heralded, the Magi felt honored to be making this long trek.

I will, of course, leave the particulars of this story for the reader to discover for her/himself… In closing though, author Byron Anderson, has written an interesting tale, filled with historical information thereby making “Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” a much more intriguing, realistic and believable read.

Having a whole new world open to you through pages is always such a joy for me. First of all I don't travel much so it is always great to read about far away places and have them described to you in such a way that you can visualize it. This author did this for me. I was taken into a world that I am not familiar with, not only because of the scenery but with the story within the pages. When I was younger I attended a religious school so I am very familiar with the story of the Three Kings and I can honestly say that as an adult I no longer follow those beliefs. However, that is not to say that I don't enjoy reading the stories that come out from the bible and don't try to learn something from the meanings behind them. This story was a great version of the familiar story of the Three Kings and really helped to get me into the Christmas spirit of giving and appreciating what you have. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to get a light into their world.

    Grade: B+ (Four Stars)
I don’t usually read a lot of religious books. It’s not that I don’t enjoy them, I’ve just found a majority to be a bit too preachy for my taste,
but I enjoyed this story. Growing up with religion, most children know the story of baby Jesus, and the 3 wise men, but having the story
told from the wise men’s perspective was actually something I found interesting. We all hear the story, but we don’t really experience
what the wise men go through in order to be there. I liked this story, because it really showed that the wise men went through a lot of
strife and struggle to witness the miracle. It’s an honest book that mixes fact with religious text, in order to keep everything as truthful as
possible, and really give readers a new experience. It’s well written, and just detailed enough that it kept my attention from beginning to
end. It’s a great choice for the holiday season, or anytime you’d like to experience something a little different. I really enjoyed this book,
and find myself recommending it to friends. Take a chance on this story, it’s got the same ending you already know, but just showing a
different struggle we never really thought about before! :)

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
