Overview

"What if I never marry - will God take that desire away?" "I have deep feelings for this guy, but he says I am like a sister to him. What should I do?" "Why should a man still be expected to initiate romance?" These are just a few of the questions posed in letters to Elisabeth Elliot by readers of her best-selling book Passion and Purity. In Quest for Love, Elliot shares many of these letters and responds to the writers' heartfelt needs and confusion with sound, biblical guidance. With warmth and humor, she dusts off "antiquated" concepts such as commitment, integrity, honor, and servanthood, and then applies them to dating and singleness today. Quest for Love is brimming with true stories about how men and women find each other. Some of the stories end unhappily and serve as wake-up calls to those on the edge of making serious mistakes. Others, including moving love stories of Christian heroes, give testimony to "a faithful shepherd bringing people together." The tales in this book reveal that the key to a great love life is adhering to high moral standards - no matter how old-fashioned they seem - and daily committing matters of the heart to Christ.

    Interesting concept

As a christian, I've heard a lot about the book 'passion and purity', and so picked up a copy of 'quest and love' recently. I find elisabeth elliot's concept of finding true love very admirable, and some of the true stories in the book were just amazing. What great stories of faith! However, if I was single, I think I would still like to 'date' in order to find out more about the person that I am thinking of spending the rest of my life with. I think there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way of doing this, and hers is just one way of approaching the search for true love.
