    Almost useless on Nook

    Don't do as I did and buy ANY book without downloading a sample first! This book itself is very good. However it is not worthwhile on the Nook as there is no way to navigate through the books of the Bible. You cannot go to a particular book, such as 1 Corinthians as there is nothing to access it. If you do a search and type "Psalms" for example, you get a page with the word Psalm in it. It almost always goes to an explanation written by the editors on each book. If you type in a particular verse you have to be very, very careful to write each word exactly the way it is written in the NIV version or you will get "Not found". I shouldn't even give this one star but there is no way to give it less. This is not a problem with the Nook itself, but rather with how the publishers wrote the access rules. Also, B&N is not allowed to refund a book after its been downloaded because of copyright laws. Remember! Always read a sample of a book before buying!

    This Bible Can be Navigated.

    My review differs slightly with the previous review. I am both a new Nook owner and ebook reader. I downloaded the sample book and found that I couldn't really check out the ability to navigate this book on my Nook due to the fact that the sample was limited; so I most likely was selecting dead links. I really really wanted this particular Bible so I boutht it anyway. I found that when you go to the table of contents, you are able to find book and chapter and then you flip to the verse. For short chapters this isn't so bad, it takes a few more page flips for the longer chapters, but the NookColor is amazingly fast when flipping pages. It is true, however, that when you search for say, John 3:16, you will get searches such as 3: and not that specific verse. This most definitely is NOT either a B&N or Nook problem, but a publisher's problem. Publishers must start publishing their ebook Bibles in such a way as to make them totally searchable. For now, I can navigate this Bible for my current needs -- improvements though, would be welcomed.

    Bible Nook Navigation Short Cut

    With any bible, so far that I have bought on my Nook it has been difficult. However, I have found if you set up a bookmark for the Old Testament and one for the New Testaments Table of Contents, it makes it a lot faster to just select the Book of the Bible you are needing and then turn the pages of which chapter to select. The search feature does not work at all for any bible I have read on the Nook. The Go To feature is difficult to use because you don't know which page to go to out of 3000 to 6000 pages. This is the best way to find a scripture from my experience!

    Not as difficult to navigate as others have said...

    I went ahead and downloaded this because it is a great reference Bible even though there are several comments about the difficulty of navigation. I seem to be in the minority, but I can get wherever I want fromt the table of contents and a little flipping. I also use this in conjunection with a "normal" Bible - like more of a study aid and I primarily access the articles and other extras as opposed to doing my daily reading out of it. I think it was a great purchase for me.

    Not sure how to rate this purchase?

    I bought this app but it won't even open on my nook. Completely freezes up. So far big waste of money!

    Just finished the Book of Esther... loved it! Enjoyed it more this time than the other times, I have read it.

    Best bible!

    I also have have the traditional book and it is just as helpful. The is the only eBible should own. Trust me. I have not one complaint!

    Recommend this version

    I have this Bible in hardback and absolutely LOVE it! I haven't purchased it in the nook yet but in reviewing the sample only one complaint. I'm seeing the articles that appear at the bottom of the page in my hardback but I'm not seeing the questions and answers that appear on the left and right sides of the pages in my hardback. I really miss those because I feet like that is a BIG part of what the Bible offerred in way of study tools. Anybody else notice this?
