    Ashley

Ok. I had gerbils when i was 4 but my brother who was 6 was plaing with his gerbil and the gerbil ran for the door and my bro stepped on it but it wasnt totally dead so my dad had to kill it. Kindest thing to do. Then he took mine back to the pet store. I just recently convinced my dad to let me get another small pet. It helped my mom was on my side. I wanted mice but my dad had hamsters growing up so he said i could breed hamsters. As for the babies and the parents killing them from wa i know it was probably for one of these reasons: 1. she used to much protein in the birth and didnt have a source of protein so she veiwed her babies as the only source of protein. 2. The male was stessing het out so that is rodents only way of trying to protecet her pups. 3. The male killed them so the female would go back into jeat so he couod mate with her. 4. She was to young and it was to much strain to bear a litter. Sort of like a young teenager with a kid. 5. It was her first litter and she didnt know what to do. 6.she was an experienced mother and
culled her litter then the others died from other causes. 7. There was something wrong with the pups such as a deformity and so shhe ate them. If you ever decide o breed rodents again i suggest you look up stuff about them. im not saying you were doing the wrong thing just that there are requirement that a breeder should know. Im a vegetarian too i really like that reason you said about if you wouldnt kill it you shouldnt eat it. Ill use that next time some annoying person tries to use logic to say being a vegetarian is wrong. Im a big animal lover so i dont want to eat them but thats just my reason. Sorry for all the typos but nooks are impossible to type on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
