I can't say enough good things about this book and its inspired author. She has found the most delicious and easy to make recipes. The perfect answer to a cook looking for simple and tasty and you will never miss the meat. Should be on every cook's self.
Very easy to follow cookbook - great recipes are easy to prepare. Lots of interesting & healthful recipes. I highly recommend this book!
I own numerous vegetarian and non-vegetarian cookbooks, yet find myself turning to this one week after week for general menu planning and really delicious, quick meals (and breads, fabulous desserts, *super* soups, etc.). I therefore cannot recommend this book highly enough! I bought it after browsing through it and also noticing that it had won the James Beard Award for Cookbook of the Year, and both my husband and I have been absolutely thrilled with the investment. BTW, I think this book would be great for both omnivores -- because I don't miss meat at all when I dine on these recipes -- and lacto-ovo vegetarians (noting also that many of the recipes can be made vegan with some substitutions).
This cookbook was given to me by a friend and has earned its spot as my favorite cookbook. The recipes, while being simple, are not so basic as to not even need a cookbook at all. Instead they are great recipes that take about 45 minutes to 1 and a half hours, and are delicious! I highly recommend this cookbook to everyone, meatlovers and vegetarians alike. Many of our meatlover friends have loved the recipes in this book and have bought this book.
