While this may not be as full featured as Office on the computer, this app adds so much functionality to your Nook. As it has recently been updated, you no longer need a MicroSD card in order to save your work, though you certainly have that option. Using the "Browse" feature allows users to manage files both on the Nook and on the SD card. From here, you can edit, delete, or even email files as an attachment, as long as you are already signed in with the email app. You can also connect to your Google Docs, MobileMe, Dropbox, and other such accounts. While I find it unfortunate that you cannot insert tables within Word, but you are able to insert images from the Gallery and resize them as needed.
While it seems many have complained about this app and it's cost, the same app is available through the Android Market for exactly the same cost. It also functions just the same.
I highly recommend this app, as it opens up the possibilities for your Nook! Though I only gave it 4 stars now, with a few more functions it would be well worth 5.

I found out you can save or create both doc and docx files. If you register your copy there is an update button right inside the app. I find excel and word docs very useful for college.

Read reviews first folks, will save you time and money. Bought the sd card before i even purchased tbis for my nook color. Have used the Word doc the most. Works perfectly every time; just like on my laptop.

Most people ask me what it is and are amazed when i say it's a nook. I'm not doing major projects on it or anything, but i love having work documents I've transferred here for easy viewing. Really the price didn't bother me because it has made my nook able to do everything my laptop can, and it's cheaper. I don't think people shoild leave bad reviews based on cost alone. Only review it if you've used it.

I love this app! I can do anything I can do on a computer setup with it such as spreadsheets, word documents, and powerpoints. Most of the other reveiws state you cant save your work when you finish your it,but you can. At the very bottom of your screen just above the nook button will be a circle with 3 lines in it, press that and a options bar will pop up with pictures. On the far left hand side will be a picture that looks like a page press that and... well I think you can do the rest from their! By far my favorite part is the faunt ajustments and that I can use it on my NOOK tablet!
I hope this helped!

This was exactly what I wanted. I now carry my NC with me at work versus my laptop. I am able to keep a ton of documents with me AND edit changes on the fly!

Despite all the bad reviews ive seen i got this not expecting much, but it works great! I dont know if there was an update since they wrote it, but you are able to save it and email it to your self to keep working else where. I use it for school essays when i cant get on a computer and the only problem ive had is there is no spell check. It takes some figuring out to understand all the details, but after you get it its great!

Create new docs and folders. Unable to add images to doc. I found navigating around its features difficult. Once I used the word proccessor, I could find away to open the speadsheet or Powerpoint parts of the app. I was going to upgrade, however, the NOOKcolor wasn't on the list of devices to select on the apps upgrade webpage.

Need a memory card to save, but overall very useful for notes in class. Does anyone know if you can use bullets? That would be very useful.

Flawlessly and intelligently reads my Dnd .pdf docs, and syncs with some of the best, most prevalent cloud services. This is a phenomenal resourse for college students on the go, like me. I don't really understand all of the complaints about the necessity for an SD card. If you had the cash to fork over for a luxury device like the Nook Color, why are you balking over getting a $7 card, which expands the versatility of your device. I've got the biggest one I could afford crammed inro mine, 15 gigs of glorious storage for PDFs, Word documents, music files, video, or whatever else I feel inclined to stuff on there. Also, one is only required if you don't use the cloud services it syncs with natively, which are both free: Dropbox or googleDocs.

This app is perfect for limited tablet/phone use, although it has some slightly irritating quirks in terms of file management and syncing. Extensive editting can be tiresome, and a computer would definitely be preferable. Despite these complaints, I can say that after using it for two months and writing numerous documents, it has done its job and kept me synced.
As an added bonus, this app can be used as a file manager for Nook, allowing you to copy, paste, and do much more in your Nook's directory that you normally couldn't do. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to stay organized, connected, and productive.

I miss having drawing abilities. Copy/Paste between applications seems to be omitted. Wishing we can capture screenshots and web pages to disk but that is not a problem unique to this product.

The only problem that I have found is that you cant pictures on the docs DIRECTLY from the nook color, however if you plug youre sd card into a computer, and save an image to the doc from the computer you can view and edit them on the nook color

I wanted the nook because it was cheaper than the ipad and because after much research, the nook was the only tablet (other than the ipad) that was able to write not only documents, but powerpoint presentations through this app! The other tablets had no apps meant for school/office work and this program usually did not work on them properly (according to reviews). Do be aware that this is a basic writing app, your powerpoints wont look spiffy and theres no spell check as far as im aware but i didnt mind it since i plug my nook via usb and transfer and edit my files when i go home.

Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.I was able to save a test file directly to my nook color without a micro sd card. I was able to forward the file to myself, no problem. I have been using this product since I got a free copy with my old Symbian phone in 2009. It allows me to open and view my files with no problems, and I can create new ones easily enough to get work started while on the road. What I would not do on a tablet or a smartphone is heavy editing. That stuff, like printing, seems to be best left to a laptop or pc. I am only giving this a rating of four out of five for that reason, but if you need to do a quick viewing and correction, or get the basic word processing done until you get home to the pain computer, this will work like a charm.
