This book gives you an overview of how to create a quilt with sections on basic concepts, rotary cutting, pressing, block construction and machine piecing. There is another section on special sewing techniques.
While there are no patterns included for you to practice using your new skills, there are six photos of quilts the author has made. There are also extra tips and tricks set off on colored boxes throughout the book.
The downside to this book is that if you aren’t math inclined, you may want to skip over the section where she shows how to create your own templates. Simply buy the template you need and go from there.
There are graphics to help demonstrate what the written words are saying so if you are a visual person, this should help you understand what is going on. If you are curious as to how to start to make a quilt, this book will give you a basic idea.
