Meet the Author

Sue first started quilting as a flight attendant, bringing hand applique to work with her on flights. In 2006, she started making and selling quilts, but had a hard time finding patterns that were quick and easy, yet beautiful and interesting. So, she began designing her own. This led to her design company, called Sweet Jane's Quilting and Design after her daughter, Jane, who was adopted from China. (Her son, Jack, is adopted from Taiwan.)

I have used Sue's patterns (Sweet Jane Quilting) for the last couple of years and find them so wonderful to work with.  This book follows the same simple and concise style of well written instructions.  Although she gears her patterns and this book toward using pre0cuts I have always found it easy to use fabric from my stash for her quilts as well.    By using some or all of your own fabric it can give more flexibility, as not all fabric lines have pre-cuts.  That being said, it is great to just pick up a pre-cut (I'm partial to Bali Pops) and do a quick project.  There are some really fun quilts in this book and I can't wait to try them.   Although these are fact projects that are great for gifts or auctions for example, I have found that many of the quilts I have made from Sweet Jane Quilting designs are some of my very favorites (I've been quilting for over 30 years) so watch out you might not be able to part with the quilts made from these cleaver designs.  Great job Sue!!
