I have been quilting for about 7 years and my collection of quilting books has grown into a small library. This is the most beautiful quilting book I have ever seen and it is also very detailed. The illustrations are lovely and the directions are clear enough for new quilters as well as advanced. It is a beautiful addition to any quilter's library!

This is one of the most visually stunning how to books I have ever seen. I'm a brand new quilter and this book was both inspiring and so easy to follow. It gave me the courage to go out and get started on the first quilt I've ever tried by myself.

Like the popular children's book that inspired it, this comprehensive book of 20 traditional quilt patterns is both a visual delight and a superb instructional manual for both novice and experienced quilters alike. The instructions are easy to follow and include several different quilt size options. Illustrations and text from 'The Quiltmaker's Gift' are featured with each pattern, along with a historical review of each block and an artist's statement from illustrator Gail DeMarcken describing her process for selecting each block for the book. Author Joanne Larsen Line has also enlisted an army of quilters and quiltmentors sharing their interpretations of the patterns. There is even a stretching and ergonomics section to keep you limber while enjoying this book! This is a great gift idea for new quilters and those experienced quilters who mentor others with their knowledge and love of the art of quilting.
