    Great for new beginners

This book leaves me with mixed feelings. On one hand it definitely had some very specific, technical information that I was able to learn from. Ms. Mallory does not skimp on the details that you need to correctly create Meta data for your website, for instance. I would recommend this book for someone starting out in the self-publishing world. I think it can really help to give you an idea on branding yourself, networking, and advertising yourself.

The only part of this book I didn't like was the end of it. There were long discussions from other individuals which took up many pages, leaving the book rather short. I felt that just inserting a link to take you online to these discussions would have served much better. I guess I felt that since that particular section wasn't the author's advice in a book that cost almost $6, and it went on for quite a few pages, I felt a little shorthanded.

Still had some wonderful advice in this book. Would recommend it.

    Lots of great information!

I LOVED H.P's book QUIT YOUR DAY JOB. It is full of useful information on book promo, self-publishing and more. I would recommend this to any author thinking of going the independent route.

    Not impressed

Not really any new info, more advertising for herself than anything

Good advice but too much padding

Another reviewer pointed this out, but it bears repeating. Most of the second half is content quoted verbatem and ad nauseum from other sources. While these are mostly the guidlines for submitting review requests for specific reviewers, the entire Smashwords guide is reprinted as well. Just mention how important the content is and post a link! Yeesh. Laser focus and a lot less fluff would earn the book more stars.
