    garbage

This was the absolute worst waist of my money ever. It made me wish I couldn't read. When I get tired of working on my own book I read a few pages from this disgrace and am motivated once again.

    Unbearable

I could only read about 9 pages before quitting out of pure frustration. The writing is sophomoric at best and the editing...to say it had been done by a fourth grader would be an insult to educated 10-year-olds. Very, very disappointing

    Hairy Happenings in Lupine Valley!!!

Quiver By Jason Gehlert Lupine Valley has some serious problems, a werewolf problem. Citizens are being attacked and treated like chew-sticks. This Probably wouldn't make Lupine valley a very popular vacation spot. Quiver starts with a werewolf tearing apart citizens in 1979. One of the citizens is the local Sheriff. The Sheriff's son witnesses the Sheriff's murder but no one believes that it was a werewolf that killed him. Then the action shifts to thirty years later when the little boy is grown and he is now the Sheriff himself. I don't want to give you any more plot details because that would spoil some of the really surprises ahead in this story. Quiver was a very entertaining novel. People read werewolf novels to get gory attack scenes. In this book your cup of blood will runneth over. What you also will get are likable characters and a complicated, intricate plot and a rather good lead-in to the sequel. If you want a novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat then get Quiver. Jason Gehlert created a good tightly plotted novel with more than enough scares thrown in to satisfy any gore-hound. If you like your horror hairy, pick up a copy of Quiver. You won't be disappointed.

    Great Character Driven Story

A nice debut novel by Mr. Gehlert. He offers up a nice take on the werewolf genre and mixes in great characters that you can really pull for. Sheriff Grant Raymond must join forces with several of the townsfolk in order to beat a legendary werewolf. The climatic ending is very intense and has movie written all over it.

All a-quiver over Newburgh native's new novel

Mitchell Uscher The Times Herald-Record Dec 4, 2005 Poughkeepsie author Jay Gehlert's first novel, 'Quiver: Terror in Lupine Valley,' will make you do just that: quiver with fright. This thriller is the first in what Gehlert anticipates will be a heart-stopping trilogy. The book, which takes place in a small town outside Seattle, tells of a gruesome werewolf attack that took place decades ago. That horrible incident killed the father of Grant Raymond, who was 8 years old at the time of the attack and is now the town sheriff. The legendary evil werewolf makes a startling reappearance, and Raymond, with the help of his girlfriend, must face the terrible creature - and some deep dark secrets - as they try to save the town and each other. Gehlert said 'Quiver' took seven years to write, edit and publish. The busy author was born in Newburgh and graduated from SUNY New Paltz. He has already written the sequel to 'Quiver,' 'Quiver 2: Full Cycle,' about a new breed of werewolves, and he has a third book in the process of being written titled 'The Colony,' which tells of a deadly virus that hits South Africa. The $13.95 book is available through all the major bookseller Web sites

    Werewolves Rule the Valley

Ah... the story of the werewolf is timeless. Since medieval times, they have captivated our minds and roamed our dreams. Jason Gelhert has done a brilliant job of bringing new blood to the ancient werewolf tales with his original characters, spicy dialogue, and riveting plot. The action may be a bit intense for younger readers, but if you're hunting for a werewolf on a killing spree, then look no further. Congratulations, Jason, and good luck on your next two books!
