Meet the Author

For 40 years, Dr. Moshe Avital has served in various educational positions, the last 12 years as the Director of Education and Culture of the Jewish Agency for Israel American Section. It was in this position that Dr. Avital directed the National Bible Contest in the United States and formulated many of the questions that are a part of this book.
Dr. Avital is the author of ten other books which were published in Israel: Not To Forget, Impossible To Forgive; The Yeshivah and Traditional Education in the Literature of the Hebrew Enlightenment Period; My Hometown Bilke Which Was But Is No More; For Our People and Our Country; Quiz Me On The Torah; Quiz Me On Nach Volume One; Chamesha Me Yodea; Nach Me Yodea Volume One; Nach Me Yodea Volume Two, and The Failure Of Man and The Engima Of God's Silence.
Dr. Avital is the recipient of the prestigious Abraham Friedman Memorial Prize in Hebrew Literature. It was awarded to him on October 21, 2001, by the Histadrut Ivrit of America, the organization for the advancement of the Hebrew language and culture in America, for his authorship of three Hebrew books and hundreds of articles in the Hebrew press in America and in Israel.
