“With 23 innovative designs, Bead Riffs: Jewelry Projects in Peyote & Right Angle Weave pays homage to author Rachel Nelson-Smith's dual love of jazz music and beading. “Amazing jewelry ... a lot to offer the bead weaver.” (5-star review) — About.com Jewelry Making

Library Journal
Professional beader and jazz enthusiast Nelson-Smith combines her two great loves in a collection of jewelry projects influenced by jazz. Each project is named after an iconic artist or song, and Nelson-Smith provides suggestions for how jewelry makers can riff each work by creating variations on the original design. There are a number of bold statement pieces in this collection, including some striking necklaces appropriate for a big night out or a formal occasion, but there is also a variety of attractive bracelets and earrings suitable for everyday wear. Crafters with experience in off-loom bead-weaving techniques and a taste for statement jewelry will enjoy Nelson-Smith's vision.

Love this book! A HUGE variety of projects with some easy and so

Love this book! A HUGE variety of projects with some easy and some more challenging. They are all beautiful pieces and have great movement. There is also a lot of forgiveness to the patterns if you don't have exactly the right type of bead in some instances. I like to challenge myself with using what I have on hand rather than purchasing for every new project and this book was a superb opportunity to do so! I have made a number of projects out of this book now and can't wait to do more.
