Rabbit gives the thumbs up. Racing Car is ready!

Children's Literature - Sarah Raymond
Rabbit pulls up to the starting line in Race Car. He revs the engine and is ready to go. Immediately, Rabbit and Race Car pull ahead in the race. All is going smoothly until they reach an oil slick and have to swerve out of the way to avoid it. Rabbit is forced to regain control in order to win the race. This is a delightful, fast-paced book that goes over the basic terms involved with car racing. Children will love the sound effects and excitement as the cars race around the track. Mandy Archer does a nice job of incorporating vocabulary terms that are specific to racing that typically are not included in such books. A great selection of pictures at the book's end shows the different parts of a racecar as well the different types of vehicles that people use in racing. Reviewer: Sarah Raymond
