Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
The Prowler is a unique military aircraft that provides electronic countermeasures and prevents enemy radar from working properly. The United States navy has used this plane for over three decades. It can take off and land on aircraft carriers and its wings fold up to save space on deck. This aircraft carries few weapons. Its importance lies in the strong radar signals it submits to jam enemy radar, preventing it from targeting U.S. troops. Excellent photographs capture the plane in action. Charts, a glossary, additional sources, and an index enhance the text. Some information may be too technical for some readers, but several young boys said the book was "cool." Seven other vehicles are featured in the "War Planes" series. 2002, Capstone High-Interest Books/Capstone Press,
