    Excellent inspiration

I found this book at my local library and found it so inspirational, I had to buy a copy so I could refer back to it whenever I needed a pick-me-up! It's not really a how-to book so much as encouragement and small bits of advice for re-thinking how you work and why. I'm in the middle of a life change, and I found the advice applicable to me in my particular circumstance while still being relevant to others.

    A Career 'Kick-in-the-pants' ... with great visuals

I got a pre-release copy of this book through BzzAgent and while I wasn't looking for a 'Career advise' book, I found the ideas presented applicable to many aspects of my current career situation. It is a 'Kick-in-the-pants' for your career just like Guy Kawasaki's 'Art of the Start' which was a 'Kick-in-the-pants' for entrepreneurs. (Sometimes we all need a good 'Kick-in-the-pants'). Plus the visuals in this book are very cool. You can tell that the author has spent a good amount of time in advertising (good advertising... not the drivel that is 80% of what you try to avoid). I recommend this book, especially if you are low on motivation and feel you might be 'settling' in your career! Go For It!

    Great read!

This was a fun little book with lots of great advice about planning a career. It's so easy to just let your career happen, but this book gives you tips for actively creating the career you want over a long period of time. The advice is given in the form of 100 truths, each one a few paragraphs long. The book is full of color and visuals, making it an easy, quick read. Highly recommended.

Radical Careering is a great resource!

Sally Hogshead gives us career advice in a blunt, in your face method that really helps it sink in. I like that the book is laid out so you can read it from front to back or just turn to a page and get a quick fix of career advice. Some of her 100 truths are reminders of tips you may have seen in other career books, but it contains a jolt of adrenaline you need to create a career and life you love. She encourages us to write our favorite truths on a post-it on our computer monitor or even rip out a page and pin them up in your office for a daily reminder to maximize your potential.

    Small Book, Big Ideas

In this book by Sally Hogshead I've found some very insightful ideas. I am fortunate in not needing to find a job or starve - I am currently employed and make good money. So what? I can't think of anyone out there that isn't looking for the 'perfect' place to be. Offer me twice the money with better benefits - I AM for sale!! :) I really enjoyed this book because it steps outside of the norm and made me think of different ways I can take things and make things. Don't settle in work or in life!

This is a Must Read ...

Whether you are in a job you love, hate or run your own business - this is a must read. Although this book is an easy read, it is best to read it in smaller chunks to digest the 'truths' that are provided within this easily read format. The highlighted portions on each page allows you to get the essential information that is needed for the chosen lesson. In addition, companion information such as real life anecdotes and websites allows the reader to learn more about each point. I believe that this is a great book to provide to a friend or to even read for yourself. I know that as a business owner, I found myself re-evaluating my position on a few concepts and making sure that I am where I need to be. I believe that in the end, this will make any reader strive to be a better careerist no matter where they are in the overall career paradigm.
