Prologue

ANCIENT PALESTINE IN THE PHILISTINE CITY OF ASHKELON, APPROXIMATELY ONE THOUSAND SIXTY YEARS BEFORE THE BIRTH OF CHRIST.

DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH! MY FATHER'S STRONGER!

NO WAY! MY FATHER'S STRONGER! HE COULD EASILY BEAT UP YOUR FATHER!

WELL, SO WHAT? SO CAN MY MOTHER!

WELL MY DEAR ... OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES ...

INDEED ...

OUR SON SPEAKS THE TRUTH!

HA HA HA!

THIS REMINDS ME OF A TALE CONCERNING THE AFTERLIFE. AFTER MEN DIE, THEY MUST STAND BEFORE DAGON AND GIVE AN ACCOUNTING OF THEIR DEEDS.

THE MEN ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO LINES. THE FIRST IS OF MEN THAT WERE DOMINATED BY THEIR WIVES ALL THE DAYS OF THEIR MARRIAGE. THIS LINE IS LONG, AND STRETCHES TO ETERNITY.

"THE SECOND LINE IS OF MEN THAT WERE THE HEADS OF THEIR HOUSEHOLD, AND THESE MEN DOMINATED THEIR WIVES. THIS LINE HAS ONLY THREE MEN.

"THE MEN IN THE LONG LINE WHO WEREDOMINATED WANTED TO KNOW HOW THE THREE MEN WERE ABLE TO DOMINATE THEIR WIVES, AND SO THEY ASKED THE BRAVE MEN THEIR SECRET.

"THE THREE MEN LOOKED EMBARRASSED, AND DID NOT ANSWER.

"FINALLY, ONE MAN SPEAKS UP AND SAYS, 'THERE IS NO SECRET. OUR WIVES TOLD US TO STAND HERE!'"

HA HA HA!

SMACK

HUMPH!

AHYEEEE!

WHAT WAS THAT?

THAT SCREAM CAME FROM THE TOWN CENTER!

KEEP THE CHILDREN INSIDE!

GAK!

LOOK! THAT CRAZED BRUTE IS SLAUGHTERING OUR NEIGHBORS!

YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS, FIEND!

YOU DARE COME INTO OUR PEACEFUL TOWN AND-

KRAK

BASH

THWAK
