Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Rainbow Fish and his friends are playing when Puffer yells "Shark" and everyone but Rainbow goes and hides. It turns out that it is only Mrs. Crabbitz. The second time Puffer cries Shark and his friends hide it turns out that it is only Old Nemo, the turtle. Any one who knows the story of the boy who cried wolf will know that on the third time Puffer cries out the warning, there really is a shark but no one pays attention. Luckily, Jonah, the whale has been patrolling the reef so he chases the shark away. The story about exaggerating and not telling the truth comes through loud and clear. The inside back cover has some tips for parents to help kids with their reading. Part of a series of readers featuring Rainbow Fish and his friends. 2003, HarperFestival/HarperCollins,
