I didn't read very far. This book was scanned in and it didn't pick up all the words. This is very annoying to try to read. I am not going to continue with it.

The book is very descriptive of the surroundings and emotions of the people involved. Sometimes..it seems too much so in my opinion but that being said...it is a book of wandering faith in God and Humanity and returning home again.Well worth reading.

Unfortunately, Anonymous, history tells us otherwise...Mormons did kill strangers. In 1857, 120 California-bound pioneers were slaughtered by Mormon militia and their Native American allies. No one knows for sure but it is believed that it was due to hysteria over Federal interference. The Mountain Meadows Massacre took place 230 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. Look it up. Wikipedia (among others) has a good article on the subject.
