Overview

The 2010 World Cup was always going to be a bit different. The tournament’s debut on African soil promised so much: a carnival of chaos and color an antidote to the homogenized product that is modern football. Rainbows for Goalposts noses behind the scenes of the greatest show on earth, treading through the grass roots of South African football, unearthing the stories and characters at the heart of a truly historic event. From the opening game featuring the enthusiastic hosts South Africa, into the groups stages, onto the knock-out phase, and right through to the Spain-Holland final, Rainbows for Goalposts tells the real story of the 2010 World Cup.
