Overview

Book One of the McKay's. Slightly steamy sweet romance. Julie McKay hasn't been home for years, and there is a very good reason for it. However, it's too late to tell her father, he has died and left her with an astounding admission in his will. He not only adopted her years ago, but she is his real daughter, the first of four.

Nearly ten years ago, Julie left the McKay ranch, confused and surprisingly pregnant. Not wishing a shotgun wedding on the father of the child, she ran away. Now she must return, and not only that, she has to tell her daughter about her father. Will she lose Kellie in the process?

Getting to know Cade Weston is part of the return, and Julie is in for some surprises of her own.

I've been kind of long winded on here and I want to change that. LOOK, I changed my prices, right now most books are $2.99. Some are $1.99 and a few are .99. The boxsets have remained the same and print books at Createspace are the same. But you should enjoy the cut especially if you want any of the older books. The Travers Brothers have been reduced so if you don't have them all grab them. I don't know how long this price will last. Some covers have been revamped. If you read my books, you know I like to update a lot of my covers. All the Western Serial Killer books have new covers. And more to come on those too. Mail Order Nanny has a New cover. Sweeter Than Wine has a new cover, and Along Came Love has a new cover. I love some feedback on whether you like the Travers Brothers Covers. You can e-mail me at ritahestand@gmail.com Check out my children's books and a few of my adult stories are at Audible.com. Ask No Tomorrows, Good Day for a Hanging, not to mention some novellas I wrote. My print books are at Createspace.com. That's all the news for now. Stay tuned though! Blessing to all! A warm-your-heart cowboy romance! I loved this story! If you're a fan of the second chance romance tropes, sexy hardworking cowboys, and western romances, then you'll love reading Raining in my Heart. Julie McKay's life as of late has been unfulfilling. Sure, she can pretend all she wants that life is wonderful, but something is missing. When she receives word of her father's passing, Julie leaves the city-life and returns to the family ranch. Reconnecting with her sisters is easy. Confronting  Cade Weston again? Not so much! Will secrets keep them apart? Or will fate help her find that missing "something" in her life. If you've ever read Montana Sky by Nora Roberts, you'll love Rita's 1st book in the McKay's series. At its root is the importance of family (especially sisters), love, and connection. Can't wait to read about Julie's sister, Letty, in Ring of Fire.       Review by: Witchy Woman

Well the cover is HOT! I give "Raining In My Heart" a 2.5. I like parts of the store and other parts I just could not stand. It had a little to much drama and long winded conversations that repeated themselves. To much sexual tension between the main charactors and not enough release. Julie just made me frustrated with her feelings running all over the place and her regret. Cade on the other had is a sweet caring cowboy, whom I feel for at the beginning. I enjoyed Caleb the old cowhand the girls "deceased" father hired; thou we all can figure out whom he is right from the start.

COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER! This was an o.k. read - no passion - just talk about it. It could have been a better book if about 1/3 was cut out because it repeated the same thing over and over! I think everyone has figured out what the deceased dad had/has in mind. I am not going to be reading anymore of this series, because of the reviews on the other books. Again, as others have stated, an Epilogue would have helped a lot, but of course there isn't one, because we are to buy the rest of the books in the series. (ljb)

I really liked this one because it had a good story all the way through. Please give this a try, I think you will feel the same.

I don't read books to find contextural errors, but they leep out and disrupt this story. It feels a bit disjointed. While people MIGHT behave this way, the author never creates a sense of believability with their feelings or behavior.

I enjoyed this western romance but I felt that the dialogue and topics of conversation by a 9-10 year old little girl, no matter how precocious, were a bit unrealistic. Between that and the fact that there were only a few actual kisses in the story when there was supposed to be such passion, the book became boring. 396 B&N pages.

a great story for this series...would recommend it to everyone. My only comment ( that I mentioned on the others in this series) would prefer adding an "Epilog"....I think this is a great touch to any and all storied...I especially liked for you book "Nick's Baby" which was by far one of the best books I have read in years...
