This CD is fantastic. On every single track Mairead Nesbitt will delight you with her mastery of the violin. She makes the instrument sing in a way that is uniquely hers. Many of the tracks will enchant you with their traditional Irish spirit and the flavor of her rich heritage. This CD also contains tracks that have a more classical feel such as "There is No Night" and a laid-back contemporary style to "Captain H" and "Bluelights". There is definitely something for everyone on this CD.
Mairead is one of the best fiddle players I've heard. She and the rest of the Celtic Woman are as much fun to see & hear as the Chieftains. I can't wait till she releases her next album. The same can be said for the Celtic Ladies.
My wife and I attended the concert and loved every note of it The setting was outstanding. Normally this time of the yaer we don't experience the lush green rolling foot hills that were present that evening for the concert. This setting reminded me of the the rolling hills of Ireland that we visited in the year of 2006. I commented to my wife that Mairead was the Fariy of the fiddle as the Irish would say when some one has such command of the instrument that she has. The energy that she displayed on stage with her wardrobe protarayed her as a light and darting fariy. Her performance made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. I am a person of few words. Therfore the expression that comes to mind is that it was and outstanding, moving and entertaining performance. Keep up the great work and god bless you.
I started out liking Celtic Woman as a group, but then I noticed there were solo albums, so I bought Mairead's first. I loved it! There is a blend of traditional Irish fiddle pieces, relaxing, and just fun songs. A must-have for any Celtic Woman and Mairead Nesbitt fans, or if you just want to try something new!
