This book jumped the shark in the beginning when Darcy asked Lizzy to
take off her clothes in a shack because she got wet from rain, and she
did it. There was no way in that time period with those characters that
that would have happened. She wasn't showing signs of illness at the
time, and he would have braved the storm to get her help before he put
her in any more of a compromising position if he really believed her to
be getting ill. He wouldn't have told her to strip, nor would she have
done so. The rest of the book was frankly too just too long. Other
people loved this book, so... Also, this book has been reissued in 2012
with a different cover.

Austen's genuis is unique, and I think I can safely say that none of the enthusiasts of her work try to emulate her unmatchable style. That is one of the things I love about Lory Lillian's novels. She brings her own twists and turns to my favorite novel, taking the story in new directions and keeping and expanding on the most beloved characters from the work.
There are several authors whose Austen variations I greatly admire and highly recommend, but there are none that give me the pleasure that I get from Lilian's variations. I hope she will continue writing for a long time to come.

Rainy Days is a great story that takes the characters of Pride and Prejudice and gives them a little twist of fate. It is not hard to become enthralled in this book when Darcy and Elizabeth become better acquainted in an improper setting. The book is filled with passion and romance, and the irresistible Darcy that leaves every woman wishing she had her own. As someone who has read countless sequels to Pride and Prejudice, this is one of my all time favorites. It takes the brilliant ideas of Jane Austen and gives it a modern day feel with the passion that is included. Don't hesitate at the chance to get your hands on this book! Was this review helpful?
