Randy Wayne White Bio (Randy Wrote this Bio)Randy Wayne White, a former Sanibel Island, fishing guide, is a New York Times bestselling author of thirteen novels and four collections of essays. His novel Sanibel Flats was chosen as one of the 100 Best Mysteries of the 20th Century by the American Independent Booksellers Association, and his Doc Ford thriller/mystery series has attracted a cult following nationwide. Inspired by the glob-trotting marine biologist hero, and his own love of cooking, Sanibel restaurateurs, along with White, have opened a hugely popular restaurant, Doc Ford's Sanibel Rum Bar & Grill, and the Dinkin's Bay Raw Bar. About White's non-fiction collections, Paul Theroux (author of The Mosquito Coast) wrote: "Randy White is not simply a wonderful writer; he is a fishing guide of genius." White is the winner of the Conch Republic Prize for Literature and the John D. MacDonald Award for Excellence in Florida Fiction. His 13th Doc Ford novel, Dark Light, will be released March 16, 2006. Carlene Fredericka Brennen Bio: Carlene Fredericka Brennen is an award winning photojournalist and was a newspaper editor and publisher on Sanibel Island, Florida for twenty years. Randy Wayne White credits Brennen with the idea for their memoir cookbook. Brennen documented with her photographs White’s time at Tarpon Bay. Their friendship spans thirty years. She and White co-published Tarpon Tales Lost Stories and Research in 1990. In 2003, Brennen co authored Hemingway in Cuba with Hilary Hemingwayand in 2004 was a co-producer of a PBS documentary based on the book. Brennen’s book Hemingway’s Cats An Illustrated Biography will be released in February 2006.
