Meet the Author

The spotlight on Rumiko Takahashi's career began in 1978 when she won an honorable mention in Shogakukan's annual New Comic Artist Contest for Those Selfish Aliens. Later that same year, her boy-meets-alien comedy series, Urusei Yatsura, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. This phenomenally successful manga series was adapted into anime format and spawned a TV series and half a dozen theatrical-release movies, all incredibly popular in their own right. Takahashi followed up the success of her debut series with one blockbuster hit after another—Maison Ikkoku ran from 1980 to 1987, Ranma 1/2 from 1987 to 1996, and Inuyasha from 1996 to 2008. Other notable works include Mermaid Saga, Rumic Theater, and One-Pound Gospel.

    Ranma 1/2

This was a great series with many twist and turns. I have to say though I was dissapointed with the ending because it let you draw your own conclusions, but over all this is a Manga series that I would recommend to anyone who asks!

    Rumiko's Last Ranma Book

This is an amazing series that you'll have to read. It's so funny and yet heartbreaking. Ranma currently has suffered alot ever since he went to China. When splashed with cold water, he becomes a she! Unfortunately, Ranma has lots of fiances on the chase for him (including his reluctant Akane who he actually loves). Stubborn Akane loves Ranma back but doesn't show it. Now back in the Jusenkyo in China, Akane is trapped! Can Ranma rescue her and become fully a man again?

    Ranma 1/2, Volume 36

Ranma's a really great collection of graphic novel. It's comedy, adventure and etc. You really need the 1st book to understand the romance between the two stubborn people Ranma and Akane (you'll find out on Nov. 14th). It's really funny how when Ranma is splashed with cold water, he turns into a girl and when he's splashed with warm water, he turns back into a guy. That's the whole problem with him going to China and all. READ IT!!!
