Rapid City

by E. G. Fabricant

A couple months ago, our writing group decided to do and review stories based on the Round Four rules for National Public Radio's "Three Minute Fiction"--600 words or less; containing each of these words: "plant," "button," "trick," and "fly;" and not "inappropriate." Two out of three ain't bad. It's about two veterans and a...new friend. Hope you enjoy it. Adult

"Rapid City" is a short story. In it, two "good old boys" go to a bordello seeking carnal pleasures after cashing their government issued pension checks. There is a not-so-reluctant prostitute with a sick relative. So, she needs to earn some extra money. They finish up. And, she returns his wallet the next day. This is not a complex story. The best thing I could say is that at least it was short and to the point. -AvidReader
