About the Author

Philip José Farmer (1918-2009) was a prolific American science fiction and fantasy writer. Born in Indiana and raised in Illinois, Farmer's first break came with his novella THE LOVERS in 1952. After a career as a Technical Writer, Farmer became a full-time novelist in the 1960s, producing several well-received series of books including the RIVERWORLD and WORLD OF TIERS series. Farmer won several awards for his writing, including eight Hugo awards in a career spanning more than sixty years.
