Overview

Drought has come to the prehistoric world of the Named. Under the leadership of the strong-willed Ratha, the clan of intelligent cats searches out new grazing land for the herd beasts upon which their survival depends. Miles away, on the coast, a young wild cat battles desperately for her own survival. Rejected by the languageless unnamed cats, and lamed physically and emotionally by a cubhood trauma, Newt forges a symbiotic relationship with a group of docile sea mammals. Lilywolf surveys the new cats. "Before joining us it is important that you understand the rules Horseclan has. Here they are: 1. The Warrior Code Must Be Followed 2. We Will Only Reply To Realistic Roleplaying 3. One Week Is Equal To Three Moons Of Your Cat's Life 4. Only Velvetstar Or Dreamlily May Approve New Members 5. Only Roleplay Up To Three Cats 6. All Apprentices And New Members Must Go On One Hunting and Border Patrol And Complete A Battle Training Session 7. If You Haven't Roleplayed A Cat For More Than A Week Without Giving Notice Of Being Gone, You Will Be Considered Missing, May Have Your Apprentice/Mentor Replaced, And You Will Be Taken Off The Brief Horseclan Biography. Those seven rules are all! We will get along great as long as you remember these guidelines! Thank you for respecting Horseclan's rules!" ~ Lilywolf, Former Leader Of Horseclan

Hey all, If you're a fan of big cats, or just cats in general, then this is the book for you. Without giving too much away, it tells the story of a prehistoric group of large, cheetah-like cats 'known as the Named' and their struggle to survive, along with their encounters with the un-Named, 'large cats that lack intelligence'. This book is the thrid installment of the 'Ratha' series, and it centers around an intrieging young cat named Newt, who is solitary and wild, partly due to a strange illness that causes her to fall into violent fits. In addition to the intresting characters, this book deals with family relationships and the ways incients in the past can have far reaching effects for the future. If any of this sounds like something you would enjoy, then I highly recommend this book.
