    A reviewer

Granted this book did help with vocabulary so i guess in the end it achieved it's main purpose but the story behind it was less than exceptional. The story was confusing and some of the circumstances, such as how amazingly quick Jayden feel in love with Ally, were seriously unbelievable. Although well written the ending was horrific and is definitly a book i don't ever want to revist.

    more from this reviewer

Peruse (read carefully) the book (even if they got the definition wrong)

Rave New World is useful for a High School student (like me) to review vocabulary. Unlike other SAT-prep novels, this one focuses on the words, and fits on average five words a page, with words ranging from easy (illicit) to hard (coruscated-just for an example). Although not as comprehensive as Word Smart I, II, GRE, and Genius, the book is a great review and is much more fun. Readers are able to deduce the meaning of the words through context or simply look at the bottom of the page for a concise definition.
I was very troubled, however, when I saw that the word "peruse" had been misused. Instead of "to read carefully," the author used it as "to skim." Other than that, the vocabulary was accurate. The plot was fast and not Jane Austen-like. Sometimes, though, it seemed to lean towards the "trashy novel" side. I tend to disagree with the previous comment that it was "the best novel ever."
Otherwise, we should take this book for what it really is--an SAT review novel meant for high school students. If you are looking for vocabulary reinforcement with a cheap thrill, this may be the book for you.
Note* I recommend this book only as a review. Practice time is required, and simply reading this novel will only get you so far. For me, it was a great way to refresh my memory, though.

    preaty good

Wow! That was a great book! It singly toped every book known to man (besides the bible)! I loved it. It was suspense full, wild, awesome, fun, and romantic. The conflict was great. Jaden Emory pink slipping, Alae, then falling hard for her and looking for her in the u.z. Simply Amazing. And the setting was a good idea to. In the future of 2027(think). As good as a book that was, it had a few flaws. For starters, flying cars. Which honestly, probably might happen, but it just doesn¿t seem that possible. Second was the language. It had at least 2-4 cusses per page that did not fit the setting. At all. But the worst thing about the book was the end. After all the time he spent trying to find Ale. She ripped his addiction out of him. And that¿s where it ends. Harsh crowd. I guess not every story has a happy ending.

    Awesome!

This book was really interesting! I couldn't put it down! I really enjoyed it and at the same time, I learned all these new vocabulary words! I took a pratice SAT (Princeton Review) after I finished reading the book, and a lot of the words were in there! I totally recommend it!!

What a Great Motivator for High School Students!

Rave New World provides a much-needed link between 'middle-school' type books and adult literature. The protagonist in the story is a young man with a criminal past, who confronts his own demons while trying to help another teenager. Of course, some of the most important topics to teenagers are included--dating, crushes, clothes, hairstyles, and music. I plan to recommend this book to my school's literacy team, and ask that at least one class set be purchased for use in our reading classes. Rave New World will provide points of discussion across the curriculum, including science, social studies, politics, and English, as well as the inevitable comparisons/contrasts to the standard college-preparation literature.
