    Book 1

This was a free book. I loved the book, I liked the characters and the fast pace of the book. Problem was I didn't realize it was a book 1 when I bought which is normally ok because if I read a free book and really like it I will buy the next book. I have previously bought a full series if I have liked the book. Most books though that are a series will at least end with a ending that if you didn't continue you would feel like you finished a book. This book just ended like you were at the end of a chapter. Since I liked the book I did buy the second book and it was also really good. I finished it in two days. My complaint about the book is how the author ends the second book also. There were so many things left untied that you feel their has to be a third book.(even though not written yet) I truly finished thinking "is this it" "this is the end" Even though I really liked the story line I would not buy another book by this author just because of how she ended her books.

A dark story with unexpected themes: incest, women's position in society, poverty, war. An idomitable heroine. Well-written and edited. You must purchase book 2 in the series to find resolution.

I loved this book and had a hard time putting it down. I, like others, am disappointed by the way it ended but i did see that it was a book 1
free book so I guess can't be too upset. I loved the plot and story line. I really liked how the author took such a serious subject and some
how made it less creepy and twisted then it could have been. I am dying to know what happens and will be buying the second but
probably not until the third comes out so I don't have to wait for another conclusion.

    Spoilers

It was a very good read until the end. I realize there is a second book, which apparently also ends with a cliffhanger, so I will just assume that Georgiana dies at the hands of the soldiers and leave it at that. At least she got laid, I guess? Happy reading!

Cliffhanger...not interested in the TBC type romance. It is okay if characters continue
with their story into book 2, so readers can read how they resolved their issues.  But a
Romance w/ a cliffhanger is not my for me. For others who do not mind, happy reading.
