Overview

What a Viking wants, a Viking takes.

When his younger brother goes missing, Dagr, Viking warrior and Lord of the Wolfskin Clan, will do whatever it takes to get him back. But nothing could have prepared him for Honora-a feisty, intelligent woman who is nothing like the women of his world-women who are content to serve their men in all things. Drawn to her despite her recalcitrant nature, Dagr is determined to show her who's boss both in bed and out.

When the two enemies-turned-lovers join forces to find Dagr's brother they are thrown into a rousing adventure full of danger, intrigue and erotic abandon. Can their passion truly unite them or will their different worlds lead to destruction for them both?

an ultra heated erotic science fiction romance

The alien Consortium captures Eirik the younger brother Viking Wolfskin Clan Chieftain Dagr. Irate with the abduction of his blood, the warrior goes after the enemy with a determination that the Consortium has not seen before; Dagr will risk his life in order to free his sibling and other prisoners. He and his crew board the ship led by Captain Honora, an honorable intelligent sailor who is used to ordering men about even in her boudoir.

Quickly realizing her crew has no chance against the berserker pirates even though her side has the superior weapons, Honora surrenders the fight. Dagr demands much more from the female captain as he plans to show her the man is on top. As they battle for gender superiority, they team up in search of his sibling.

With a nod to Sandra Hill's SEAL-Viking time travel romances (although Delilah Devlin employs visitors from space instead of time), Ravished by a Viking is an ultra heated erotic science fiction romance. The lead couple (and a third mate) turns this story into a fun tale as each wants to tie the other in knots while neither loses sight of the fight to rescue Eirik.

    I Also Recommend:

Thrilling romance and adventure - highly recommend!

I really enjoyed RAVISHED and it definitely met all of my expectations. Alpha Vikings to die for; new worlds; hybrid being and an adventure that speaks to my heart. The characters and settings pulled me in. I was intrigued by the Vikings and their world. I could fully picture Delilah's beautifully crafted world in space and how different it was to the world I know but close enough that I could relate. The sex is hot and leaves you panting. I was left craving the next book and can't wait to get my hands on it.

    This was a great read

It has everything, war, clans, heat, romance.... did I say heat... lot's of heat - Delilah is a really good writer and she does not fall short with this book. I can't wait to read the second book in this series due out in October.

    It was a painful read

Vikings in Space. Need I say any more about this book? By the time I was a fourth of the way through I only kept reading in the futile hope that the hero would die and the female protagonist would perish along with him.

    Total Snooze-Fest

I was disappointed with this novel. The sex or 'romance' in the book is in every chapter and doesn't give the reader enough anticipation, and is not romantic in the least. I am not sure the author knows who the audience is. The beginning of the novel is from Dagr's point of view (written in third person) and his thoughts or actions do not really relate to me. Dagr's character is, I am assuming, is supposed to be the average male, but the representation is far-fetched and more than a little biased. When the character Honora is introduced, the attention is pulled away from Dagr to Honora, and the reader is introduced to her thoughts and feelings. Dagr likes Honora because she is a strong yet delicate woman, but her character and many other chacters in the book could have been discarded or could have taken more of a backseat in the story. The main heroine of the story could have been Birget and would make for a more interesting and - I am stretching this - enjoyable story - but honestly, what was the author thinking?

    I Also Recommend:

Some hot, some good but writing not so much

I'll first admit I bought this book because of the cover picture of a hunky viking with great thighs. I also read a review on one of the romance book websites that shall remain nameless. So it all looked and sounded good--and for the most part it was, and I do recommend this book if you like hot-almost-erotic type of story that is a romance book at the bottom line. However, the writing wasn't quite up to par or my liking. The writing was kinda choppy, and the language of the characters was inconsistent. Sometimes it was ancient Highlander speak, other times it was contempory type of erotic-speak, and most of the time, I didn't feel involved with the characters. I like the initial concept that was the female lead, but her character strength got lost when it was time to have sex. I like the male lead--honey of an Alpha Male Viking--but he wasn't a "romantic" lead character for me--not when he "made it" with anything female. I blame it on the writing....I'm just saying. But like I said, I still recommend this book. Oh and yeah, this was the first Devlin book I've ever read, and I'm thinking one was enough, unless her next one was a hunkier cover alpha male on it!! Hope you enjoy the book.

    Sizzling, mythical, riveting storytelling

Clash of cultures, clash of myths, clash of powerful personalities: it should be easy to review Ravished by a Viking, a novel of erotic science fiction by Delilah Devlin. After all, how many authors can bring out on paper the excitement and more-than-willing suspension of disbelief that old fashioned adventure stories once brought us? A kidnapped brother. A battle of wills between a ship's captain and a planetary warlord. On one side, human colonists toughened by the harsh environment they've mastered, and who still praise and reward sheer physical strength. On the other, a galactic empire used to relying on the power of energy weapons and science. And in the middle, our heroes. Men, women, wills and desires. Dagr, Clan-leader of the Wolfskins, who only looks like an unpolished barbarian. And Honora Turgay, who loses her ship to the Viking leader, but never surrenders her determination. Ravished by a Viking is a myth come to life, but it's also the story of two people: adventure, passion, discovery, transformation. All of Delilah's scenes burn with energy, whether she writes believable, exciting, and heart-pounding action scenes, or scorching, breath-stealing, and enviable sexual encounters. Yes, it should be easy to review one of Delilah Devlin's stories, because each one of the delivers the promise of a great read, abundant humor, and larger-than-life characters. Delilah is a born storyteller, and knows how to build the tension on all levels, entwining sensual conquest with a growing friendship between the main characters, slowly turning what could become redundant sniping into clever flirting. And most importantly, she always surprises the reader - and sometimes the characters themselves. But a reviewer should also announce to the reader what to expect beyond the open cover. Is it a romance? Of course, and I'll say no more. But that would leave out the cleverly built and logical world of space-travel and alien societies her characters inhabit. Is is science fiction? Of course. We have space-travel and ancient civilizations and the kind of questions science-fiction authors like to ask. But that would leave out the intense relationships between the characters. Is it erotica? Oh yes, with scenes as hot and intense as Delilah can write, as charged emotionally as they are physically, it has to be. But that would leave out the character development and the world building and the tight plotting. Yes, it was hard to write a review of Ravished by a Viking when the story speaks for itself you're ready to re-read rather than write about it. But if I didn't, you wouldn't hear about it, and you'd miss a wonderful, action-packed, emotional roller-coaster of a read.
