I was given this book as a gift. I loved it and often used it as my bible to health. I loaned it out and never got it back so had to order a copy. I was lost without it.

Raw Nutrition is a book greatly needed in our society today. The author, Dr. Karyn Mitchell, is a naturopathic psychologist who has studied and worked in the field for 38 years. The book is a detailed guide on how to achieve optimum health and prevent illness. Dr. Mitchell states that people need to be educated about good nutrition. She teaches how to transition to a raw food diet. Whether the reader is dealing with an illness or wants to create a healthier life, this book has a wealth of knowledge. A 4-3-2-1 intensive three month healing diet is outlined. This consists of 4-6 servings of leafy greens, 3-4 servings of cruciferous or starchy vegetables, 2 servings of fruit and 1 serving of nuts, grains or seeds. Since it is now believed that major chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity are related to a person's diet, the information in Raw Nutrition is timely and necessary. In addition, ADD and ADHD are connected to diet. Emotional eating and food addictions are discussed in the book along with how food companies, selling unhealthy processed products, are deceiving the public. The book also contains raw food recipes including some for smoothies and juice. I've worked with Dr. Mitchell for many years. By working on the emotional aspects of eating along with my diet I've moved towards a healthier healing lifestyle. Raw Nutrition is a MUST READ for people who desire to embrace life and be healthy and happy.
