Overview

Set in South Florida, the story is about a college professor who loses a gender-confused student to suicide and tries to gain understanding by friending a man who has made the change to woman, albeit reluctantly. IMportant to the story is the reluctance factor, because the hero/ine had not planned for much of his/her life to make such a critical change.

About the Author

Following a life of writing technical documentation and socioal service case files and a few humorous travel-related stories, the writer had the opportunity to commit to a longer piece - and took it. He was initially torn between a novel and a screen play. When he sat down to type, the quote key snapped off his keyboard. He took that as a sign that dialogue would be written as in a screen play.
