    Terrific CD!

We saw this group in Vegas in November '09! Made me want the CD, as they are terrific performers. The music from that era is definitely worth listening to (and makes you revisit the original groups). If you can, catch them in their live show too - their contract in Vegas (at the Imperial Palace) has been extended two years due to the outstanding customer response!

I just returned from Vegas where I saw this band perform live. I had not heard about them before. I saw a flyer once I got there and saw that they were being presented by Smokey Robinson. I figured if he was behind them, they must be great. They were! I purchased a CD afterwards and will play it on my way to work each day to start the day right! If you're in Vegas, see them live at the Imperial Hotel.

    A decent album...

I'm generally not a fan of cover albums. This one, however is at least tolerable. The vocals seem to be lacking in emotion and on some songs like "Stop! In the Name of Love" the vocals simply sound hollow. Likewise, the music is lacking that full orchestral sound that Motown did so well. The arrangements are nearly identical, but the music sounds completely electronic and artificial. The album overall is fairly bland. It's tolerable (except "Ooh Baby Baby" which is by far the weakest song on the album) This album's pretty decent, which is typically about as good as you get with an album of song covers. If you want a soulful soundtrack of some of Motown's best, but the real deal not this...
