What People Are Saying

Caroline Tagg
"My doctoral research shows that there is much more to texting than abbreviations and phonetic spelling: Texting is a creative, expressive, and practical outlet for a surprising range of uses. In short, texting deserves much better press than it usually gets! It's great to see a book like Read Between the Lines address texting in such an entertaining and informative way."--(Dr. Caroline Tagg, PhD., First person to receive a PhD in texting, Birmingham University, U.K.)
Peter H. Jackson
"Whether you tweet, text, or yammer, Read Between the Lines will fast-forward your ability to communicate in the new world. I thought I was an early pioneer in texting. By reading RBTL, I learned more in thirty minutes than I had in five years of finger typing. More importantly, I learned how to look cool to my children. You need to get to the point, be clever, and figure out how to take advantage of the limited space (characters) provided by services like Twitter. The new world is here now, and you better get hip or get deleted."--(Peter H. Jackson, Silicon Valley CEO & Director)

OMG I just finished my Christmas Shopping - best gift book this year

This book is the perfect gift book for my friends and family members. The topic could not be more relevant. It has a wealth of GREAT information while staying entertaining through interesting stories. Sort of a text guide and reality show all in one. This will help anyone make the most of their phone in clever, cute and useful ways. More importantly it will help the people I know and care about stay connected! Perfect message for the holidays. So glad I found it.

    This book is amazing!!

I am in my mid-30's and a mother of 2 youngsters. I only started texting about a year ago. It is amazing all of the things I had no clue about before I read RBTL. The book provides me with the lingo and knowledge I need to keep up with the texting world. I had no idea all of the abbreveations and things you could say to people in "text lingo." It is a new language for me and using the information from RBTL has allowed me to bring my texting into the current day and age!

What a great, humuorous, informative book

I'm one of the "aging upwards" group, a grandmother of 5 (3 are avid texters) and I'm a complete novice, so this book is perfect for people like me. The dictionary is wonderful...now I have a reference for all the BFF, BTW, LOL, TTFN etc. etc that come with the texts that I get from them. :) I love the books layout with the chapters in different colors and the graphics are absolutely super! I've preordered a bunch of them for Xmas gifts to all my senior friends. What a great gift and if they don't text or twitter, this will be the "bible of texting" for them to use to get started. It's simple to use, fun to read and a great reference. With this book, there's no reason not to give texting a try. BTW, I also learned a lot, especially about texting in an emergency, texting for the deaf, texting in schools and how important it is for a parent to be aware of the potential dangers that their teen/tween could encounter with inappropriate texting.

Simply put - I just love it!!!

    INNOVATIVE, INFORMATIVE, ENJOYABLE!

Kudos with 5 stars to Ms. Edgington for this informative and enjoyable book.

With "simplicity and style", she covers the in vogue way of
communicating. If you are one who is curious about, or reluctant to
join into one of the world's newest and most widely used forms of
communication, look no further. Texting HAS arrived, and this book
wonderfully covers the subject. Current events, such as the recent earthquake in
Haiti, confirms the importance of this new means of communication. And if you
have children, this is a MUST read.

I highly recommend this book. It is informative, fun, and filled with delightful illustrations. After you read it, this book will be one to leave out for others to see and read!

    IT'S A FUN READ

I just picked this book up at a book signing at my local book store in Pleasanton, California, and I love it! Yes, it does look like a book only for chicks, but I'm here to tell you that even guys will think this book is rockin'! Not only did I pick up some great hints about how women like to communicate, but I also learned how to Tweet! Now I'm going to buy Read Between the Lines for my mom and my sister for Christmas. They will LOVE it!
