The word "saneh" in the Arabic language has many meanings, including: what comes to you from your right, such as a gazelle, bird, or other. The plural is "sawanih," which is the opposite of the word "bareh," which means what comes to you from your left. The word "saneh" in Arabic is used for optimism, unlike the word "bareh," which is used for pessimism. The word "sanah" also means "presented" or "appeared," so one says: "These are the sawaneh that his mind produced," meaning these are thoughts and ideas that he presented. When I chose "Sawanih Al-Qira'ah" as the title of my book, I intended to have both of the above meanings. I first intended to present some of my thoughts, readings, reflections, and impressions about books, reading, and writers. I also intended this book to be a good omen for everyone who reads it, as I am very optimistic that whoever reads it will come away with a good impression of reading and books. I hope you, my dear reader, have an enjoyable and beneficial tour as you browse through the pages of the book.
