Reading Practice at Home, Grade 4by Evan-Moor Educational Publishing, Jo Larsen, Carol Bonfield, Don Robison
Parents can purchase this series and know that their children are getting reading practice that's grade appropriate. Reading Practice at Home provides between 14 and 26 stories, all charmingly illustrated in full color. The stories are followed by activity pages to practice comprehension, word meaning, phonics, sequencing, and a variety of other, age-appropriate reading skills. In addition, there are 16 pages of practice cards, an answer key, and parent information on how to use the book. Reading Practice at Home contains both fiction and nonfiction stories. The stories at each level get progressively more difficult, providing challenge as the child gains in reading skill over a period of time. Parent information includes preparing the child to read a story, reading the story, and doing the activity pages. There are many suggestions for fun activities to do with the practice cards.
