This is a license-test-outline-based review of testable real estate textbook subject matter. It covers principles and practice material that appears on the general portion of license exams used in multiple states.

This Nook edition complements the print version nicely by adapting almost any eReader’s search option to function as a better-than-print index, since they typically pull together all appearances of any entry and thereby allow easy selection and comparison of whatever you were seeking.

This prep material was designed primarily for prelicensing candidates who need to bring textbook material together in an exam-oriented way to ensure having a firm grasp of the knowledge base that will be “in-bounds” on the actual licensing exam.

The writing is direct, concise, engaging and often humorous; its command of testable terms and topics is both authoritative and definitively comprehensive. It is an unsurpassed summary of core real estate terms and concepts along with synonymous terms and many more advanced or obscure ones, especially since it makes clear what is testable and what is too advanced, yet may appear on the test as wrong answers.

It is the only book on the market for PSI written by a test development specialist and former "insider" for a PSI competitor in charge of that company's real estate test development for more than twenty states, including current PSI client states Colorado, Hawaii, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

So where other authors guess, this one knows from years of hands-on preparation of actual real estate licensing exams nationwide!

It includes a full-length, 80-question sample test written to match PSI's exam specifications.

The answer key is prepared for some eReaders’ text-to-speech easy read-back and is followed by simple instructions on how to create a Diagnostic chart of strengths/weaknesses to guide further, final review, if necessary!

Once licensed, your colleagues, clients, and customers will expect you to continue demonstrating the same ready grasp of real estate basics that all of us expect of any real estate professional, new or not.

This portable edition will long outlast its value for helping you pass the test, since it affords practicing professionals, new and experienced, an ideal “field reference” summary of almost any subject, term, or concept they need to know.

For prelicensing candidates, the eBook version ranks as a first-rate complement to the print version and is priced with that in mind: nothing beats the printed page for making notes as you study, and you should have both.

But there is significant added value in this e-Version, since you will get years of use out of it after you are licensed, long after you may have “retired” all of your prelicensing materials to some inaccessible location, dusty reference shelf, or dust bin.

If you are already licensed, this is well worth buying at this very affordable price as a “must-have” quick reminder of things you once knew yet may still need to look up suddenly, perhaps at an open house or during a client call.

Now a concise summary of the basics can be right there with you at all times on your at-hand portable device!

For test-prep use in Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia.

Ideal for professional field use nationwide.

Meet the Author

John R. Morgan knows what’s on the test: he spent three and one-half years at Assessment Systems, Inc. (ASI), now Pearson VUE, in its Real Estate Test Development program

During this period, Morgan was in charge of developing, maintaining, and enhancing all question pools and licensing exams for ASI’s then-20+ real estate client jurisdictions by conducting over two dozen state-specific test development meetings and consultations in capitals from Massachusetts and Rhode Island to Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii.

His career culminated in drafting the general examination outline that, with minor subsequent changes and recent extensive listing of Topic Area sub-topics, remains in use, then reviewing it and all of ASI’s sales-level general test questions with a national committee of Subject Matter Experts.

As part of that project, he personally consolidated multiple real estate databases into one while also reviewing and coding all sales and broker level questions to correspond with their new topic-area "content home" within the new outline.

Morgan left ASI in early 1998 to found Morgan Testing Services and pursue consulting, writing, and other service opportunities. He has reviewed and/or revised thousands of test questions in Dearborn’s Real Estate Education Company’s publications, written nine books, and provided test development services for Arizona, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, as well as instructor workshops in North Carolina, curriculum development workshops for South Carolina, and both licensing exams and a real estate guide for the government of Bermuda.

He entered the field of large-volume test development at the Educational Testing Service (ETS) where he spent several years writing, editing, and assembling material for the verbal portion of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), Advanced Placement (AP) Literature exams, and other national examination programs, notably the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).

A professional educator and writer since receiving his Master of Arts in Teaching English from Brown University in 1981, Morgan took his first real estate course in 1978 while studying literature at the University of Connecticut. He held his first real estate license in Rhode Island while in graduate school, his second in Arizona, where he sold property in Tucson, and now holds his third in his native Connecticut, where he currently lives on
