IT’S COMPLICATED.

We’ve read the scandalous headlines, watched her sexy breakout performances in Starship Troopers and Wild Things, and seen her many public faces on her reality television show—the beautiful vixen, the devoted mother, the hard-working entertainer, and the fun-loving friend. But how well do we really know Denise Richards?

Like so many small-town girls, she dreamed of making it big in Hollywood. But following a painful, high-profile divorce from Charlie Sheen, she found herself raising their two young daughters alone as her mother was dying of cancer. Denise writes openly and honestly about these experiences and more: she lets you in on her childhood dreams, her fated move to Hollywood with her close-knit family, her rise to fame, the pressures of living in the spotlight, and the controversy surrounding her relationships. Through it all, she managed to keep her sense of humor and optimism.

She offers an up-close and personal look at her most intimate battle scars and the lessons she’s learned as she’s healed and grown. Denise’s story will resonate with anyone who has had to look within herself to find strength and courage when life is throwing curveballs.

Inspiring and uplifting, raw and revealing, Denise finally lets her fans in on the resilient woman behind the bombshell persona, the person her friends and family already know: The Real Girl Next Door.

I liked Denise more after reading her book. Got through it quickly because it was a great read!

This book was written for her daughters. That is the only reason she didnt go into ANY detail with her marriage problems with Charlie. She sugar coated his behavior and glossed over her true feelings of him. I understand she wants to keep the peace, however, it seems she is still (even after her divorce) walking on egg shells with him. Besides the huge elephant in the room that she doesnt talk about, I did enjoy reading about her childhood and family, and how she got her start in Hollywood. I love her attitude and loved reading about her girls. She seems to be a wonderful mother!

If you're going to write a book about your life, then you need to be willing to dish out the good, the bad, and the ugly. It seemed like she just glossed over all her problems with Charlie. I will say she appears to be a loving and devoted mother.

Denise's book is definitely entertaining. I love celeb books in general, but this one was a bit different. I have never seen her reality show or 90% of her acting work, yet this book kept my interest from the beginning. I relate to her in so many ways, and I think she seems like a great mom. Some parts were very sad, but it is great she shared them to help others. I love alot of her values and although i dont agree with everything said I respect her opinions. This book mostly felt like a get together sharing stories with an open and warm friend.

good book until the end.. she got annoying about oh how she would support charlie in anyway.. oh charlie this or that.. she must have repeated herself 20 times about how she DIDNT have an affair with sambora which i dont believe she did.. but sounded like she wanted to convice US so much that she had to to explain in so many times in book.. and for charlie inviting her to a dinner with hookers.. NICE.. with ur duaghters in hotel room and right across the hall.. NICE...but denise doesnt bash him for that either...and just wants to seem like the "cool" ex wife..i think she just RATHER be on his good side and know how bad it is when charlie is mad at her.. so she just agrees and yeses him to death.. and as long as those child support checks keep rolling in she could care less.....

Really enjoyed this book. Reading this made me like Denise Richards more. She takes the high road when writing about Charlie Sheen. This was a great book and one her daughters will someday be proud she wrote.
