If you like the Real Simple series of shows and ideas you will love this cookbook. I bought it for my newly engaged daughter, brought it home and made the Garlicky Salmon & Tomatoes that night - really easy and tastes wonderful. I did give my daughter the book, but have ordered another for myself and a friend who loves to cook. Takes the scare out of trying something new. Ingredients are easily found and the recipes easy to follow. A winner!
My wife loves Real Simple magazine and this cookbook has delicious recipes that i love to enjoy. She cooks I eat!!!
I was disappointed and feel that the title is very misleading as most recipes require 10 ingredients. There is nothing easy about spending a ton of time and money at the grocery purchasing 10 ingredients, getting them home, putting them away, pulling them out again and prep everything just to get ready to prepare a dish. Yes, the actual preparation of the dish is done in generally four steps but you have spent a ton of time before you ever cook!
I was very excited about the book when I briefly looked through it in the store and received it as a Christmas present. Many of the recipies are slighly tweaked from the 2006 "Real Simple meals made easy" cookbook. I use that cookbook all the time and love the recipies - especially the freezer meals section - lasagna style baked ziti is one of my favorites. The "Real Simple easy, delicious meals" cookbook doesn't give enough instruction when it comes to freezing and reheating. Uninspired recipes also. This will probably be a good cookbook for someone not familiar with the 2006 "meals made easy" version but I was disappointed that there were so many repeat recipes in the 2009 "easy, delicious meals" version. My advise - buy the other book!
